Activism in Action: Laughing to Break the Silence

Join Pietro Sparacino - stand-up comedian, satirical writer, and sharp critical thinker – for a vacation that blends comedy, activism, and awareness. Five days of workshops, encounters, and performances to laugh at the world and learn how to change it. Because, as the manifesto of Satiriasi, Italy’s first stand-up collective, says: Laughter is the means, not the end.

Highlights

  • A gym for critical irony
A full immersion into comedy with Pietro Sparacino and other comedians and trainers, where training sessions, group writing, open discussions, and performances take turns. You’ll learn to read the present with new eyes - and laugh about it, mindfully. This is activism in action, making critical thinking something collective.
  • From idea to stage
For those who want to step on stage, there will be training moments and workshops on creative writing, stand-up, and improvisation. Trainers like Mauro Fratini, Sandro Canori, Giulia Cerruti, and Domenico Lannutti will help you turn an idea into a written set.
  • From the couch to the chair
For those who just want to laugh and have no intention of going on stage, there will be evening performances and APERITALKS - informal chats around satire, civil engagement, and comedy. This year’s guests include Nathan Kiboba, the first Black stand-up comedian in Italy; Francesco Fanucchi, with whom we’ll discuss freedom of expression; and the C’è Figa collective, the first transfeminist comedy crew in Italy.
And to start the day right, every morning you can join LAUGHTER YOGA sessions, turning the art of laughter into a tool for living better - on and off stage.
  • Relax, nature, and nights under the stars
It’s not all about comedy - this is a real vacation! We’re in the green heart of Abruzzo: whether or not you want to perform, you’ll have time to swim in the sea or the pool, take part in an inclusive alternative football tournament, and you might even end up singing karaoke (help!).
There will also be time for personal reflection, socializing, and networking!

TRIP PURPOSE

We live in a society that often asks us to conform, to lower our voices, to silence doubt. Comedy Village is an act of cultural resistance. We use comedy to critique, deconstruct, and build new ways of seeing the world. Through workshops, performances, and group moments, this journey aims to train critical vision and ironic thinking as tools to understand and act - in our personal lives and in society. It’s a formative, transformative, and deeply light-hearted experience.Because laughing, truly, is a political act - and it will always be a laugh that buries them.

This trip has been designed based on the following principles:

  • Inclusivity
  • Cultural Hub
  • Education for Sustainability
